JAMES KODAH, the undergraduate who allegedly kidnapped two siblings in Kumasi, has been arrested in a hotel room at Asante Akyem Agogo, in the Ashanti region, barely 24 hours after he had abducted the children.
He was, perhaps, waiting for the parents of the children to send the GH¢2,000 he had demanded to be sent to his MTN mobile phone number, but unknown to the kidnaper, said to be a native of the Upper East Region, the police, through the help of MTN, was able to locate his whereabouts.
Kodah, who claims to have graduated from the Kumasi Technical University, successfully kidnapped the siblings, aged 7 and 9, from school on Friday, after he posed as a relative of the two children.
The parents of the children quickly informed the police, who mounted a manhunt for the kidnapper.
The police, in collaboration with MTN, eventually tracked Kodah to his hotel when he called the parents from his cell phone and demanded a GH¢2,000 ransom.
