The robbers had been terrorizing the people of Nkwawie and Nyinahin in the Atwima Nwabiagya and Atwima Mponua Districts, respectively.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has been informed about the nefarious operations of the gang for some time now.
The Nyinahin District Police Command therefore tracked and eventually arrested the suspects on Thursday, January 18, 2018.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Fred Adu Anin, made this known whilst addressing a press conference.
He said the robbers recently carried out a robbery operation at the Asanayo Forest, on the Afepaye-Nyinahin trunk road.
The robbers were wielding two single barrel guns, and they fired series of gun shots to frighten a driver in charge of a sprinter bus to stop.
The police capo said the robbers then took away valuable items that were in possession of the fear-stricken passengers and bolted.
DCOP Adu Anin described the arrest of the three as breakthrough for the police in the fight against violent crimes in the region.
He disclosed that all the three suspects have admitted to the crime in their caution statement, adding that they are still in police custody.
According to him, the three robbers have been identified by the victims of the robbery expedition, adding, some of the victims have identified their phones.
