Mrs Bawumia Donates Hand Sanitisers to Schools
Hajia Samira Bawumia, Wife of the Vice President through the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP) has donated 9,600 hand sanitizers to five senior high schools (SHS) in the Northern Region.
They are meant for promoting personal hygiene among students to avoid diseases.
The beneficiary schools included; Walewale SHS, Damongo SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Savelugu SHS and Bimbilla SHS.
Mr Salifu Saeed, the Northern Regional Minister, who received the items from representatives of SEHP and handed them over to a representative of the beneficiary schools in Tamale on Tuesday, expressed gratitude to the SEHP for helping to address a health challenge facing schools in the region.
Mr Saeed recounted the incidence of meningitis, which broke out in some schools in the region last year, saying the hand sanitizers would help students to maintain clean hands and avoid spread of diseases.
Mr Salifu Seidu, Headmaster of Savelugu SHS, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiary schools, thanked SEHP for the donation.
