MTN Hitmaker Season 7: OV Wins Ultimate

Okailey Verse popularly known as OV has made history as she was crown the winner of MTN Hitmaker Season 7. She is the second female to emerge first at the competition as Freda Rhymes won the ultimate prize last year.

OV took home a GHS100,000 recording deal plus other wonderful goodies including the bragging rights as the queen of MTN hitmaker Season 7. Magnom, her beat maker also walked away with GHS10,000 Price.

In defiance of her impressive staging, she faced stiff competition from equally good finalists Awal, Amakye and Erza, who placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

OV was over the moon when she was mentioned as the ultimate winner of the night.

She joins the list of winners which includes Naterial (Season 1 winner), Koo Ntakra (Season 2 winner), Togbe (Season 3 winner), Kidi (Season 4 winner), Kurl Songx [then Kelvin] (Season 5 winner) and Freda Rhymz (Season 6 winner).

The grand finale which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre was hosted by media personalities Berla Mundi, and Giovani Caleb.

Judges namely musician Eazzy, Richie Mensah, Kaywa and Okraku Mantey were generally impressed with the performance of the contestants.

Awal was hugely unlucky as his choice of songs were not “competition worthy” as spoken by one of the judges. OV received positive comments from all judges for both performances.

There was also a musical performance from a host of previous Hitmaker contestants including Kurl Songx, Kwami Eugene, Kidi, Freda Rhymz and Drew and many others.
