MTN, Micfrim launch New Phones

Telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana in partnership with Micfrim Company Limited has unveiled the highly anticipated iPRO Amber 5s and iPRO Amber 5s Pro unto the Ghanaian market.

The two smart phones which have 3G and 4G access according to the company are equipped with pre-installed apps which offer a real smartphone experience to customers.

It offers a powerful new way to multitask, watch videos, play games, and more – bringing to life new experiences and possibilities, years in the making.

“Our vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world is in many ways made apparent through partnerships that lead to the introduction of devices such as the IPRO Amber 5S/5S Pro. Three ultra-modern data centers, thousands of kilometers of fiber-optic cable and the introduction of the first mobile 4G+ service in Ghana – these are some of the ways we are delivering the digital world and ensuring good experience for our customers” said Mr Guido Sopiimeh, a Senior Manager at MTN at the launch.

According to him, MTN subscribers who purchase the phone will enjoy free 1GB and 800MB data for 6 months for the 4G and 3G phones respectively adding that, ”MTN is also offering all customers who buy the IPRO smartphones free YouTube streaming to enable them watch videos on YouTube for one hour every day.”

“A few days ago we introduced a device financing scheme with our partners from Ecobank and Samsung – the ‘Pick and Pay Later’ service, to enable our customers purchase original devices from Samsung and enjoy a flexible payment term. Today’s launch marks another step towards the advancement of this vision, one that will make the customer’s life a whole lot brighter,” he stressed. 

Michael Frimpong, CEO of MicFrim on the other side hinted that the devices have been specially designed to address issues customers raised with reference to the MTN SMART which was launched in April, 2019.

”This phone has been specially designed taking into consideration, and improving on the issues that customers raised on the MTN SMART and adding even more. It is already installed with the MTN APP, 1 +16 internal memory, and MTK processor that gives you very fast speed browsing experience” he indicated. 

With a 5inch screen, the MTN IPro Amber 5s/ ipro Amber 5s Pro phones come well equipped with pre-installed apps such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Facebook, YouTube, and many more. The adaptability of the device makes it easier than ever to connect with others wherever you go.

The launch which happened at the Rawlings Park in Accra was attended by senior staff members of Stanbic bank, Staffs of Micfrim, Mobile Phone Sellers Association among others.
