Multimedia denies show host pocketed $2000 bribe

Allegations that the Morning Show Host of Nhyira FM in the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwadwo Jantuah took a bribe amount of $2000 as inducement to use his radio platform to tarnish the image of President Akufo-Addo cannot be proven and the persons who made the allegations have retracted and apologized; the Multimedia Group, owners of the radio station has said.

A statement signed by the General Manager of the Multimedia Group- Kumasi Business, Jimmy Aglah, noted: “Preliminary investigation reveal that the allegations are unsubstantiated. The Station engaged all persons mentioned in the allegation and they have all retracted the allegation. The person who made that particular allegation has accordingly apologized.

The release further stated that, “unless subsequent concrete and clear evidence is produced in support of the above allegation against Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, Management of Nhyira FM views this allegation as unfounded.”

“Management of Nhyira FM requires zero tolerance for bribery; and political neutrality and fairness from its members of staff. Its members of staff also strictly abide by these core professional requirements,” the Multimedia statement added.

Meanwhile the accused journalist in question, Nana Kwadwo Jantuah has also denied the allegation and said he is not a bribe taker.

“I cannot accept bribe from a politician in a particular political party to work against a fellow politician in a different political party. That is not my style”, the popular morning show host stated emphatically on Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Breaking his silence over the issue last week, Nana Jantuah indicated on Nhyira FM that there is no iota of truth in the wild speculations, stressing that nothing could influence him to change from his positive lifestyle and accept bribe.

According to Nana Jantuah, it cannot be possible for anyone to bribe him.

Nana Jantuah, who is very outspoken, said he suspects that his journalistic style of hitting hard at politicians, especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was the reason he was wrongly being accused of bribery allegations, but this would never make him change his style.
