Music language creates development and sustainability

Music as a form of creative tool is used in all occasions to help in our developmental process in our various towns and communities.

In the past and even the present day, in some of our villages, music is used as a form of communication amongst community members.

When there’s a community development, the Chief allows his local drums, cowbell and other basic music instruments to be played in order to disseminate information to the folks to engage in communal labor to develop their locality.

When children are born, music as a tool for development, is performed to welcome them as well as when they exit this earth to express and signify our deep emotions which allows us to calm our spirits to continue with our daily activities.

Music is taught in schools to unearth talents in the creative arts sector which later helps them to compose songs for our national discourse. Typical examples are our Folklore works, National Anthems and other patriotic songs.

Music, has created huge employment in the creative arts, tourism and culture sector. Through music, a lot of talented musicians are discovered plying their various crafts and trade in the creative industry bringing revenue, easing stress and promoting music therapy to heal the afflicted.

A lot are engaged in the field of the sales of musical equipment where taxes are levied to help develop the country. Various concerts, parties and other musical events are held which boost the local economy anytime there is a performance.

Commuters, transport owners, revelers and petty traders, are able to cash in to advance their lives thereby helping their financial situations whenever there’s a music event.

Children who grow up listening to music develop strong music-related connections that in turn strengthen their language skills.

Music plays a very important part in learning both our native language, as well as additional ones.

Children imitate the rhythm and musical structure of the mother tongue long before. Most people are able to remember several songs and nursery rhymes learned as children.

Music helps to retain words and expressions much more effectively. The rhythm of the music, as well as the repetitive patterns within the song, helps us memorize words.

Bilingual children, in particular, can benefit from singing songs in their second language. Even if most of the words are unfamiliar at first, mimicking the words in a song can help children practice producing sounds in the new language.

It has created a lot of works and employment for the society and consumers especially the army, navy, police, fire department and all security services who have various bands who play music on various occasions to liven our spirits to work hard to develop the nation.

In effect, music as a form of development can never be underestimated. The benefits are many and varied!
