Ghanaian rapper, Bak Tye, who had his days in the late 2000’s, has been confirmed dead after battling with Tuberculosis.
He died on Sunday, July 28, at the Ridge Hospital, where he had been on admission for some time.
The news was confirmed by a brother who said the rapper gave up the ghost between the hours of 4 and 5am on Sunday.
Bak Tye was a household name in2014. He soon became one of the most sought-after artistes and had collaborations with Mzbel on her breakthrough ‘Awoso Me’ and Kofi Nti, among others.
His song, which featured Samini, and was produced by Agyengo, was the party anthem in those days.
He rose to superstardom on the strength of his stunning voice, well thought of lyrics and the type of music he does – hip-hop and dancehall blended with highlife.
His fans believed he was one of the best rappers Ghana ever had, but unconfirmed reports say his final days were not positive as he literally became a pauper.
