MUSIGA Donates to Kwadee at Rehab
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has paid a visit to rapper Jerry Anaba, popularly known as Okomfo Kwadee, at the Willing Ways Foundation Rehabilitation Centre at Kwamo in the Ashanti Region.
MUSIGA, led by Ras Caleb Appiah, Chairman of the Greater Accra wing of the union, on Tuesday, donated an undisclosed amount of money, drinks and packs of sachet water to the artiste.
Speaking on Citifm, Ras Caleb disclosed that the artist is better and does not live at the rehab anymore.
“When we went we were told, he now lives with the leader of the rehab in her house but not at the rehab. He has also been made an ambassador for the Willing Ways Foundation,” he said.
The visit follows recent report that the ‘Ofie Nipa’ hit maker, who has been mentally ill for the past years, had been neglected by his family at the rehabilitation centre
Meanwhile a spokesperson close to the family has rubbished claims that the artiste has been abandoned.
According to him, there is no way the family would abandon the artiste.
Okomfo Kwadee, known for his lyrical content, became known in the music industry, in the early 2000s.
He won a huge a following due to his story-telling rap style.
The news of his mental illness, which broke out some years back, has left him out of the entertainment scene.
Just when he tried to bounce back into the music industry with ‘Fiifii’ and ‘Di Kan,’ his condition exacerbated and was taken to the Willing Ways Foundation rehabilitation centre.
