MUSIGA Don’t Respect Members – POSSI GEE Reveals

Award winning music producer and engineer Awal Alhassan popularly known as Possigee in the showbiz industry last Friday 5th October on Accra FM’s drive time show dubbed ‘nkran kwanso’ hosted by Dr. Kay revealed that, Musicians union of Ghana (MUSIGA) doesn’t respect the sentiments of the members.

‘’The industry has progress in terms of the charges of our artiste but what will help the industry is the mechanism to work on our royalties. GHAMRO should lobby and get mechanism for royalties. Most Ghanaian artistes will be billionaires when GHAMRO starts to work effectively and efficiently. When GHAMRO has the mechanism, everything will fall in place. What GHAMRO does is to guess when they want to distribute royalties, he disclosed.

Speaking on issues concerning MUSIGA, he said ‘’I am a proud member but when we suggest to the union they don’t take it’’

Speaking on why he doesn’t step out for him to be recognized as an industry player, he said ‘’I get too busy in the studio and that doesn’t give me the chance to go out. I am always busy in the studio he disclosed.
