Artiste of the Year at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Kuami Eugene has attributed the failure of former Lynz entertainment signees like Mzvee, Asem, Zigi, OJ Blaq from getting hitz songs to improper planning before leaving the label.
The ‘Rockstar’ believes if the likes of DopeNation, Mzvee, Asem and others had planned adequately before leaving the record label, they wouldn’t have lost steam in the music Industry.
According to him, Lynx as a record label has structures and staff that make the operations of the label smooth for artistes to thrive and climb the ladder of success adding that, the inability of artistes who exit the label to gather the needed resources and pursue their careers, he said, is the hindrance.
“I personally think what is it with Lynx entertainment is that, we think people leave and it doesn’t work for them anymore is because people don’t prepare before they leave. For me, I think people don’t prepare well before they leave because there should be a preparation ahead of everything. Maybe you’ll leave Lynx and maybe six months, the thing is still not working. Lynx is a whole team, with about 25 people as board members. Sometimes they even fight, let’s do this and that.
“They’ll argue, let’s do this, No, let’s do that one, let’s go for that endorsement deal and so on and so forth. So if you leave Lynx and you don’t have these 25 people fighting for you, it’ll be a disaster. You have to take time to build all this 25 people around you and this Ghana wey, small time they’ll retire you. Within that 6 months period, you are likely to be retired and there won’t be that attention for you anymore” he said in an interview with Giovanni on TV3.
