NADMO Picks 200 NSS Personnel to Battle Filth
THE NATIONAL Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Ashanti Region has started a programme to keep the region clean. The move is also aimed at preventing the outbreak of diseases in the region.
And to meet this aspiration, the regional NADMO has written to the National Service Secretariat (NSS) for 200 of their personnel, this year.
Kwabena Nsenkyire, the Regional NADMO Coordinator, said the support of the NSS would go a long way to make the exercise successful.
He bemoaned the general attitude of throwing filth randomly at unapproved places and called for a behavioral change.
Nsenkyire said the organization has decided to get more men on the ground to educate the people on environmental cleanliness, and disclosed that the recruited personnel would be visiting public places and homes to educate the people on sanitation.
According to him, NADMO secured 100 NSS personnel last year to support its activities, adding: “and we want 200 of them for the impending exercise”.
