Nana Aba Anamoah Slams Okraku-Mantey

Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah has strongly criticized Mark Okraku-Mantey, accusing him of failing to address crucial issues in the entertainment industry during his tenure as Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

The media personality’s remarks came after Okraku-Mantey expressed his reluctance to appear on United Showbiz, claiming the show had shifted its focus from entertainment to politics and unrelated matters.

Okraku-Mantey’s comments were raised during a discussion on the show, where he argued that United Showbiz no longer centered on showbiz discussions and suggested renaming it.

“Do you know that show is no longer about showbiz? You need to change its name. I don’t have a problem with the show. When the ethics work over there, I’ll come. Now, I don’t know where I will fit in,” he said when asked by host of Peace FM’s entertainment review show, Kwasi Aboagye about his potential appearance.

Nana Aba, however, did not hold back in her response. She criticised Okraku-Mantey for not using his influence to make a meaningful impact on the entertainment industry while in office.

“He said there are issues in the entertainment industry. How did he deal with them when he was a radio presenter for so many years? What impact did he make? He was given a position where he could have improved the industry, but what did he achieve? Absolutely nothing,” she stated, visibly frustrated.

“He sounds better when he stays silent. He shouldn’t comment on the industry when he has contributed nothing,” he added.

The tension escalated further when the show’s host, Empress Gifty, referred to Okraku-Mantey as “honourable.” Nana Aba quickly interjected, saying, “He is not an honourable. Don’t give people titles they don’t deserve. He is not a Member of Parliament. He has never been.”

The exchange has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online. While some supported Nana Aba’s statements, others criticised her tone and speculated whether there might be a personal issue between her and Okraku-Mantey.
