Nana Addo extends ban on public gatherings, religious activities

The ban on public gatherings and other related activities to help in the government’s fight against COVID-19 in Ghana has been extended till the end of May.

This was made known by President Nana Akufo-Addo in his ninth address to the nation and further indicated that, the extension comes into full force effective Monday, May 11, 2020.

Delivering the national address, he said the closure of schools and ban on public gatherings had created a lot of inconvenience for many Ghanaians but “we have no option but to stay focused.”

“Tonight, I have come into your homes, to announce that the ban on public gatherings, as set out in Executive Instrument 34, has been extended, also to the end of the month ie, 31st May,” President Akufo-Addo said.
