President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to address the Ghanaian citizens tonight on progress of the 21-day lockdown imposed on some cities as a measure of containing the coronavirus.
According to Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communication at the Presidency, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will address the nation tonight, April 19, 2020.

Announcing this on his Facebook page, he said the time for the address will be communicated in due course on his social media platform and that of the President.

“Kindly take note – President Akufo-Addo will address the nation on Sunday. The time for the address will be communicated in due course (on this page and on the President’s social media pages.)” he posted.
Ghana’s COVID-19 cases now 834
The Coronavirus disease cases in Ghana have increased by 198 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 834.
The latest figure released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said the new cases were detected after some 57,000 samples were successfully tested as of Wednesday April 15 2020.
“In the first batch of this backlog, an additional 198 have been found to be positive. This will bring Ghana’s total case count to 834 at the moment”.
The service advised the general public that “this does not represent new infections that are occurring. It represents results from tests of a backlog of samples”.
“The laboratories have been working day and night to test this large number of samples. Hopefully in the next few days all the testing would be completed”, it assured.
Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Volta, Upper East, Upper West, Central, Western and North East.
