Nana Addo to Launch Social, Economic Development Policies on April 11
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will launch the Coordinated Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, 11th April, 2018.
This programme dubbed, “An Agenda for Jobs: Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for All”, outlines the President’s vision for the country and specific programmes and interventions to achieve this vision.
The Coordinated Programme was presented to Parliament in November 2017 in fulfilment of Article 36, Clause 5 of the 1992 Constitution, which requires that “…within two years after assuming office, the President shall present to Parliament a coordinated programme of economic and social development policies, including agricultural and industrial programmes at all levels and in all the regions of Ghana.”
The launch will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, 11th April 2018 at 1.30pm prompt.
President Nana Akufo-Addo had in September 2017 revealed that his government is done with the Co-ordinated Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies.
He said though the Constitution, in Article 36(5), requires the President of the Republic to submit the programme to Parliament within the first two years of his administration, government had worked to ensure that it is completed within the first year of his tenure of office.
