IF WHAT happened in Kumasi on Saturday is anything to go by, then the winner of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organizer race has already been decided by the party’s delegates.
Henry Nana Boakye, affectionately called ‘Nana B’, was given a rousing welcome when he visited Odeneho Kwadaso, a serene neighbourhood in Kumasi, to share his message to lead the NPP youth wing with some key party gurus in the Ashanti region.
All the 47 NPP Constituency Chairmen in the region had organized a meeting on the day for the various aspirants to share their campaign messages and programmes with them.
The mood at the event grounds was very quiet but everything suddenly changed when Nana B, stormed the place and took his time to go round to shake hands with the chairmen.
Even before he was given the opportunity to address his audience, there were intermittent shouts of “Nana B is the obvious choice to replace Sammi Awuku as the NPP National Youth Organizer”.
Addressing his audience, the aspirant, who was very brief and straight to the point, outlined series of pragmatic programmes that he had lined up to help move the NPPs youth wing forward, when given the nod.
He particularly promised an all-inclusive administration and added that the NPP youth wing under his leadership would be strong and resolute to defeat their political opponents in all elections.
