Nana Has Lost Incorruptible Tag …Says Odike
The founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai, aka ‘Odike’, has posited that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not doing enough to fight corruption in the country.
According to him, the president, who won an avalanche of votes during the 2016 elections because the electorates believed he could fight corruption better than his predecessor, seems to be losing the fight against the menace.
“Sadly, President Nana Akufo-Addo, who prior to the 2016 elections openly boasted of having the courage to fight the corruption canker, has now disappointed Ghanaians, so far.
“The incorruptible tag, which we use to associate President Nana Akufo-Addo with, is gone for good. He has lost the tag, which was among the major factors that helped him win the 2016 polls”, he said
Speaking on radio in Kumasi, Odike said he was utterly surprised about the huge number of scandals that had hit the NPP administration in less than three years in office under the watch of President Akufo-Addo.
He lamented that the president’s approach towards fighting corruption doesn’t demonstrate any seriousness to win the war against the national canker.
Touching on other pressing issues in the Ashanti Region, the UPP leader also lambasted the NPP administration for doing very little to solve the road challenges in the region, which is the NPPs stronghold, adding that the government makes lip services whenever the payment of contractors comes up for discussion.
