Napo Cleans Manhyia South
THE ENTIRE vicinity of the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been given a new look following a massive clean-up exercise in the area on Tuesday.
The exercise, spearheaded by New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia Southconstituency, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, was organized ahead of Otumfuo’s 68th birthday, which falls on Sunday.
Speaking to the media after the exercise, the MP said cleaning the constituency and the palace surrounding is the least that the NPP could do for the King.
According to him, people from various backgrounds would be visiting the palace to pay homage to Otumfuo and also wish him well, hence the plan the clean the constituency.
Napo, who actively participated in the clean-up exercise, explained that his decision to enter the dirty gutters for the five-hour campaign, despite his status, was to encourage the youth to take the exercise serious.
He noted that monies that Ghanaians use to treat diseases would sharply reduce if the people keep their environment clean.
The entire NPP executives in the constituency, led by Chairman Anane, also participated in the exercise.
