ENERGY MINISTER, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has consoled Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia, over the death of his mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia.
Nicknamed ‘Napo’ in the political circles, the Minister on Saturday presented an assortment of food items to support the final funeral rites of Dr. Bawumia’s mother.
On behalf of Napo, the NPP Manhyia South Constituency Organizer, Alhaji Abouba, presented bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and boxes of water to the funeral committee.
Also, Napo, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency in Kumasi, presented a huge cattle to help support the funeral, slated for Sunday.
Alhaji Abouba, making an address during the presentation, said Napo’s presentation was intended to help make Hajia Mariama Bawumia’s funeral rites very successful.
According to him, definitely mourners from all corners of the country and even outside the country, would be attending the funeral rites of “our late mother”.
Alhaji Abouba therefore said the presentation, at least, would help the bereaved family to properly take care of the mourners, who would come from various backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Napo personally travelled all the way to Tamale, in the Northern Region, on Sunday morning to commiserate with Dr. Bawumia over the painful loss.
