NAPO Donates Text Books to Manhyia South Schools
ACADEMIC WORK in the Manhyia South Constituency is set to improve significantly as the 14 basic schools in the area have received 22,400 essential text books.
The Member of Parliament, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, nicknamed as ‘Napo’ made the timely donation recently.
All the 14 Junior High Schools in the constituency benefitted from the law maker’s largesse, which is intended to boost teaching and learning.
The beneficiary schools are KO Methodist JHS ‘A’, KO Methodist JHS ‘B’, St. Louis Demo JHS, R/C Girls JHS, Konadu Yiadom Basic JHS, Afia Kobi MA JHS and St. Annes Anglican JHS.
The others include Apostolic JHS, Odumase Extension Basix JHS, Dichemso MA JHS ‘A’, New Tafo Dichemso MA JHS, Dichemso MA JHS ‘B’ and Ave Maria R/C JHS.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Napo said some friends of his donated the text books to him.
According to him, it was his desire that the constituency would be able to produce well-educated and influential people for the country in future.
In this regard, he admonished the pupils to make learning their number one priority so that they can pass their examination and climb higher on the academic ladder.
Napo said President Nana Akufo-Addo had the interest of the youth at heart, hence the introduction the free Senior High School (SHS) programme.
