ENERGY MINISTER, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’s’ desire to make a strong impact in his new ministry, has received a massive boost.
Scores of traders in the various markets in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi, where Dr. Prempeh hails from, have given him their unflinching support.
The traders, who spoke to the paper during a vox pop, said Napo has a positive track record of delivering and making a difference in his work environment.
In this regard, the Kumasi traders have stated emphatically that they have strong confidence in Napo to make the Energy Ministry the best ever soon.
Significantly, the traders ply their trade at the Kumasi Central Market, Kejetia Market, Race Course, Asafo Market fish dealers, just to mention a few.
Also, the various printing press operators in Asafo and other places in the big city, have also given the new Energy Minister their total support.
They said they were not afraid of the recent power outages, being witnessed in some parts of the country, since Napo would save the situation.
The traders said the education ministry was not in good shape but Napo’s appointment as Education Minister in January 2017 changed it for the better.
According to them, but for Napo’s expertise and hard work, there is no way that the famous free Senior High School (SHS) policy could have become a reality.
The traders therefore said definitely Napo would implement better and pragmatic policies to help stop the power cuts and ensure stable power supply soon.
In this regard, the traders have called for patience from Ghanaians, adding that the citizenry should give Napo the full support since he can make the Energy Ministry better.
