NAPO Inspects Astro Turf Projects

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has expressed satisfaction about the level of work done at the Dichemso Astro Turf projects.

The Dichemso Astro Turf facility has increased to three, the number of Astro turf facilities that the Dr. Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, is constructing in his constituency to promote the development of sports.

Already, the Abbey’s Park Astro Turf project in Ash Town has been completed and handed over to the community; works on a similar astro turf facility would start at the Konadu Yiadom School soon.

During an inspection tour of the Dichemso Astro Turf facility on Sunday, Napo told The New Publisher that he was highly impressed about the level of works done at the construction site so far.

Napo explained that Manhyia South Constituency, has over the years, produced sports stars, especially footballers for the country and therefore he “ wants to improve sports facilities to help sustain the positive trend”.

Napo, who is a sports fan, stated that the astro turf projects would go a long way to serve as grounds to unearth football talents, who would be nurtured to become world stars in the near future.

According to the Manhyia South Lawmaker, who is also the Minister of Education, he is convinced that the various sporting disciplines, in particular football, has the potential of enhancing the lives of the youth.

Napo, who was joined by the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi and other dignitaries, during the inspection tour, stated that he would periodically visit the construction site to inspect the level of works done.
