THE DAYS when criminals had a field’s day in committing crimes under the cover of darkness in and around the Manhyia South Constituency, will soon be a thing of the past.
This pleasant news follows the provision of 613 pieces of Led Streetlights by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh nicknamed as ‘Napo’, the Manhyia South MP.
He also presented 10,000 pieces of energy saving bulbs, for onward distribution to the various households in the 106 polling stations in six electoral areas in Manhyia South.
Napo, under whose tenure as MP Manhyia South had witnessed massive transformation, also assured to bear the cost for the fixing of the streetlights in the constituency.
In his address during the presentation ceremony, Napo stated that he does not feel comfortable when he hears about crime in his constituency, therefore the presentation.
According to him, the streetlights would be fixed in all the six electoral areas including Afia Kobi, Dichemso, KO, Odumase, CPC and Manhyia Proper to brighten the areas.
Napo also said the 10,000 energy saving bulbs would be distributed to the various households in the area to help reduce their electricity tariff, calling for judicious use of power.
Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, who received the items on behalf of the assemblymen in the constituency, lauded Napo for his significant efforts to help improve Manhyia South.
He observed that Napo’s significant contributions and proper leadership, has led to improved roads, school buildings, scholarship for students and many others.
Haruna Alhassan, the Manhyia South Sub-Metro Chairman, on behalf of residents of Manhyia South, wholeheartedly thanked Napo for his efforts to transform the constituency.
