THE MINISTER of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh will meet the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II today (Wednesday).
The historic meeting is expected to take place at the famous Manhyia Palace, the official seat of the Asante Monarch.
Nicknamed as ‘Napo’ in political circles, the Energy minister would use the big occasion to pay homage to the Asantehene.
Significantly, Napo would officially introduce himself as the Energy Minister to the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool today.
Napo would also brief the Asantehene about the current state of the energy sector, which is an important sector in the state.
He would also announce his programmes, policies and plans to improve the energy sector to Otumfuo and the Asante chiefs.
Napo, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, would be joined to the palace by other top dignitaries.
Also joining him are gurus from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ministry of Energy, GRIDCo and the Volta River Authority (VRA).
