Napo Switches To Sports
DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency, has vowed to improve sporting facilities in his constituency.
During his reign as the lawmaker for Manhyia South Constituency, the area had experienced massive transformation in roads, education, health, security and other pressing areas.
According to Napo, sports would also receive his attention as he is prepared to construct modern sporting facilities to help unearth and nurture sports talents for the country in the near future.
He was speaking during the soft-opening of the ultra-modern Abbey’s Park Astro Turf project on Sunday morning. The facility, which boasts of several amenities, looks extremely beautiful.
A brainchild of Napo, the then grassless Abbey’s Park has been developed into a modern facility with flood lights, an open gym, children’s playing grounds and other amenities, befitting a modern facility.
Napo, speaking at the colourful function, said plans are in the pipeline for two more astro turf projects to be constructed at Dichemso and the Konadu Yiadom School, all in his constituency.
He observed that Manhyia South boasts of several sports talents, notably footballers who need facilities to improve their talents, hence his decision to construct modern astro turfs in his constituency.
Napo stated that his decision to invest in sports doesn’t mean that the other areas would be ignored, saying that roads, health, education and the remaining sectors, would continue to be developed.
The Manhyia South Constituency Lawmaker admonished residents of Ash Town and all other users of the Abbey’s Park to take good care of the facility so that it would last longer for future generations.
As part of the soft-opening of the Abbey’s Park, Napo organized a football gala with a glittering trophy at stake for the six electoral areas in the constituency, to help deepen peace and unity in the area.
