DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh has easily retained his seat as the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South Constituency.
The famous politician, who was seeking his fifth term on NPP ticket, polled a staggering 486 of the valid votes cast, representing 88.5 percent after the election, which was very peaceful.
Before the elections, there were rumours that some people were secretly influencing the party delegates with cash to vote against Napo, to erroneously prove that he was not popular.
But despite these machinations and bad plots to dent Napo’s image, the Manhyia South MP, who doubles as the Energy Minister, still survived as he won the election with a colossal margin.
When the results of the elections was announced, the elated-looking party members and supporters, were seen singing and dancing at the forecourt of St. Anne’s Anglican Church, venue of the polls.
Napo, who was accompanied by his mother and some of his family members from the Apagyafie in Kumasi, thanked God for being his strong pillar and strength through his political career.
He also thanked the Manhyia South NPP delegates for once again voting massively for him to lead the party into the 2024 election, which is some few months away.
Napo assured to work and deepens the unity in the party in the constituency so that together, they could campaign vigorously to win more votes for Dr. Bawumia to become Ghana’s president.
The Manhyia South Lawmaker also used the occasion to admonish his party members across the country to embrace unity and hard work so that the NPP would make history by breaking the eight.
Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta aka ‘Tom Tom’, the Manhyia South NPP Chairman, on his part, lauded Napo for working hard to take Manhyia South to “the top”, urging him to sustain his good works.
