Narh Teye Sends Para Powerlifting Team To 2018 Commonwealth Games
Charles Narh Teye, a Ghanaian Powerlifter has booked a place at the 2018 XXI Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.
Narh Teye, lifted 157kg in the 80kg class at the recent World Para Powerlifting World Cup in Mexico.
He placed 14th out of the 25th participants.
The qualifying weight for the 80kg class at Gold Coast 2018, is 140kg but Narh Teye lifted 158kg to qualify.
The event was a mandatory requirement by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for para-powerlifting athletes, as it also served as qualification for the Commonwealth Games affiliated countries.
Teye Narh, competed at London 2012 Paralympic Games and 2016 Rio Paralympic Games and remains one of the medal hopefuls for Ghana at the Games next year.
