Ghana center Nathan Mensah produced an efficient performance in his debut game in the NBA Summer League for the Charlotte Hornets.
Mensah played 18:55 minutes off the bench and produced eight points, three rebounds, a block and a steal in Charlotte’s 77-98 loss to San Antonio Spurs.
The 6 foot 10 inch defender Mensah scored four of five two point shot attempts including a two handed dunk off a pass from Justin Robinson with 2:29 minutes left to play in the first quarter.
The Hornets trailed 9-24 after Mensah’s dunk in a game the 2023 NBA Draft second overall pick Brandon Miller scored 18 points in the loss.
Former San Diego State University player Mensah, converted a tough shot in the second quarter inside the paint and scored a layup in the third quarter.
Mensah went undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft but was quickly signed to Charlotte Hornets Summer League roster and is aiming to play his way into the main team for the 2023-2024 season.
Charlotte plays Golden State Warriors on June 5 before heading to the La Vegas Summer League that runs from July 7 to July 17.
