The National Film Authority under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts Culture will be holding the final session of the Presidential Film Pitch Series on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th April 2021.
This will be preceded by a media launch on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority told Citi News that this is one of the strategies the government is employing to give the film industry a facelift.
“The National Film Authority is committed to working to position Ghana as a film hub. We called for submission of projects and over a hundred projects including films and other projects within the ecosystem were submitted. We had a committee that selected twenty-five who went through a lot of processes training and packaging,” she said.
The Presidential Film Pitch Series is a film activation programme in Ghana aimed at creating a platform for Ghanaian filmmakers with projects within the film ecosystem to engage investors, broadcasters, distributors, sponsors, and platforms around the world for potential opportunities.
One hundred projects in the form of documentaries, feature films, short films, series, games, film infrastructure were received by the National Film Authority (NFA) in 2020 from Ghanaian Film Entrepreneurs, out of which twenty-five (25) have been shortlisted.
The goal is for all shortlisted projects to close deals that will bring these projects to fruition.
The National Film Authority invites investors, broadcasters, and distributors to take advantage of these opportunities in the Film Marketplace.
