The earlier day, Monday, August 31, 2020 scheduled for the launch of the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 2020 manifesto has been postponed indefinitely.
The new date September 7, 2020 came after a meeting of the party’s Functional Executive Committee.
“This is to enable the National Executive Committee and the Council of Elders [to] approve the policy principles and strategies promised in the manifesto,” a statement said.
The manifesto, described as the “people’s manifesto” will speak to the real needs and aspirations of Ghanaians, according to members of the party.
The event will be held virtually and will be streamed live on various media outlets.
The Communications Director of the party, Lawyer Kakra Essamuah had in an earlier interview said that the document contains several policies which will impact the lives of Ghanaians positively.
He said some of the policies which include salaries for assembly members, free primary healthcare and a $10 billion accelerated infrastructural plan had already been made known by the NDC flagbearer John Mahama.
“Ours is provisionally fixed for the 29th of August, it’s provisional, it’s not something that has been firmed. When it is firmed-up, it would be announced,” Lawyer Essamuah said.
