NDC Chairman Fingered Over GHC30K
THE ASHANTI Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Obimpeh, is in hot waters as he has been hit with a Gh 30,000 controversy.
The party’s Bekwai Constituency Chairman, Salisu Musah, has alleged that he gave the money to Obimpeh to support the NDC regional office building project.
But Obimpeh, who sounded agitated on Nhyira fm, flatly debunked the Bekwai Constituency Chairman Musah’s claim.
Yaw Obimpeh flatly denied ever receiving such an amount from Musah.
The Ashanti Regional NDC chairman, who will not seek re-election this year, said Musah’s wild allegations is among a series of wicked plots to dent his image.
According to him, he had faithfully served the NDC, a political party that he loves so much as the Ashanti Regional chairman for eight years without blemish.
Yaw Obimpeh said he was said that there are some NDC members in the Ashanti region plotting evil machinations to render him useless and destroy his positive records.
“I am aware of clandestine attempts by some known NDC members, who are working hard to get my positive track record tainted”. Obimpeh complained.
“After eight years of hard work and visionary leadership as the Ashanti Regional NDC chairman, I have decided to exit the scene for another person to take over.
“But some people in the party have hatched a plan to destroy me even before I bow out of the scene and I will not accept that”, he said on Nhyira FM in Kumasi.
According to him, he would not sit down unconcerned for anybody to destroy his positive record with untrue allegations as Musah and his likeminded people had started.
