THE OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) is planning to make key changes in its campaign strategy towards the next general elections.
The changes, according to party sources, would particularly manifest in the communication department of the largest opposition political party in the country.
The move is among the new methods that the party has adopted to enable it win the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Tawiah Boateng, the Eastern Regional NDC Chairman, said the party has realized that its communication department did not perform well in 2016.
According to him, instead of coming out with communication strategies to woo the voters, the NDC was rather doing the opposite, resulting in their defeat.
“Some of our communicators did not help the party as they engaged in insults and other misconduct, which did not help us win more votes.
“There is no need to cry over spilt milk, but I think as a party we need to restructure and repackage our communication so as to win more votes”.
Tawiah Boateng announced that the party would start organizing orientation programmes for its communicators ahead of the next elections.
He explained that the programmes would be geared towards making the party’s communicators more vibrant and efficient in the future.
“We are in opposition and so we should communicate in a proper manner that can woo the voters to our side”, he said on Hello FM in Kumasi.
