NDC Communicator Exposed Over SHS Shift Sleeping System
SAMMY GYAMFI, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication’s Team, has been exposed on UTV.
This was after he alleged on Wednesday that some students were sleeping in shifts at some Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.
According to him, the introduction of the free SHS by the President Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has brought the anomaly.
He complained bitterly that the government did not provide enough infrastructures to accommodate the swelling number of students.
Sammy Gyamfi then claimed that some school authorities were now being compelled to introduce shift-sleeping system in their schools.
“In some of the schools, because the free SHS has increased their student population, the students are now sleeping in shifts.
“Some of the students are allowed to sleep for some hours and they would rise for their colleagues to also sleep for some hours”, he claimed.
The NDC communicator also alleged that in some of the schools the students are packed like sardines at night before they can sleep.
He bemoaned that the development was having adverse effect on the health of the students so something urgent must be done about it.
Sammy Gyamfi was then asked by the host of the programme to mention just one school where the students are sleeping in shifts but he failed to do so.
The host continually pressed Sammy Gyamfi, but the NDC man was seen dodging the simple question live in the studios of UTV.
The NDC as a political party has constantly kicked against the free SHS policy. Interestingly, majority of Ghanaians have embraced the policy.
