Tragedy struck the family of National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator at Asante Mampong, Osei Yaw Akoto, who was stabbed to death in cold blood on Thursday night by his wife.
According to reports, the couple, both professional trained teachers, frequently argue, sometimes resulting in violent altercations.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, George confirmed the death of the 45- year-old leaving behind three boys.
As per his account, the eldest son of the deceased sought his help. Upon arriving at the distressing scene, he swiftly rushed his friend to the hospital. Unfortunately, Osei Yaw Akoto, commonly known as “Borga,” gave up the ghost.
“So I rushed to his house because we are neighbors; I call him Borga, and so when I got there he was lying in a pool of blood but still breathing. He was stabbed in his chest and so it was deep. I don’t have a car, so I rushed to get a car, and we sent him to the hospital,” he narrated.
when we got to Asante Mampong Government Hospital, the doctor tried to stablise him but died in just 15 minutes”, he added.
George reported that he couldn’t understand why their misunderstanding escalated to a fatal outcome this time.
Regarding the conflicts between the couple, altercations occur approximately every two to three weeks, sometimes even every four days. These disputes primarily consist of verbal arguments, with the wife consistently sustaining injuries during the confrontations.
He notified the police about the incident, resulting in the arrest of the wife to aid in the ongoing investigation.
