The deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Otukonor, has boasted that the party had elected marketable people as parliamentary candidates for the 2020 polls. He, therefore expressed confidence that the party would win more parliamentary seats in the next general election.
According to him, the NDC delegates demonstrated smartness by giving their mandates to candidates that have the potential of winning in the national elections.
“I can boldly predict that the NDC will definitely win a lot of seats across the various constituencies in the country during the upcoming elections, next year.
“Our delegates did very well by electing people, who have the best messages and are in the position of winning their various seats in their constituencies”, he stated.
He cautioned that anybody that would write the NDC off in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections would regret it bitterly.
Otukonor, who was speaking on UTV, disclosed that the NDC united soon after Saturday’s elections, saying “This is a sign of a party that wants to win elections”.
He also congratulated the female aspirants that emerged victorious at the primaries. He said the NDC wanted more women to get to parliament in 2021 and was thankful that the party’s intentions had worked to perfection.
“Female victories during the Saturday polls stood at 28 percent and this is positive. We reduced filing fee for females by 50 percent and it has worked”, he noted.
