THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) has initiated processes to heal any wounds in the party that must have been created following the recent parliamentary primaries in some selected constituencies across the country.
Peter Otukonor, the Deputy General Secretary of the party, has announced that the party intends to form a Reconciliation Committee in the coming days, to ensure that all grievances in the party, which arose after the recent polls, are resolved.
“Our elections were peaceful all over the country and that is a good sign, but we need to make sure that the party’s peace and unity is intact and further boosted.
“The Reconciliation Committee would visit the various constituencies and help restore peace and unity, especially where there is disunity and troubles”.
Otukonor also indicated that the National Executives of the party had reviewed the recent elections and are appreciative about the overall peaceful nature of the polls.
“There is unity in the NDC after the recent elections as we have not received a single petition from any aggrieved person after the elections so far”, he pointed out.
He noted that the NDC received the lowest petitions ever (just 17 of them) before the primaries and stressed that it was also a good sign for the party ahead of the 2020 general elections.
