Six constituencies in the Ashanti region could not vote to elect executives for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday 23 June 2018, due to court injunction placed on the elections.
The constituencies are Subin, Mahyia North, Afigya Kwabre South, Kwadaso, Bekwai and Oforikrom.
The Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency could only elect the Youth Organiser and the Women’s Organiser due to challenges in printing the ballot papers.
Alhaji Saanie Abdulai, the Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NDC told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah in an interview.
He said the party will go to court to resolve outstanding issues to allow elections to take place in those constituencies.
He described the elections as successful indicating that the few problems encountered were minor and did not affect the general polls across the region.
