NDC Still Living in Darkness – Adomako Barfi
ACTING COMMUNICATIONS Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adomako Barfi, says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is still living in the darkness that caused the partey’s electoral defeat in 2016.
He said the darkness had blocked the view of leading members of the largest opposition political party in the country and so they cannot see the splendid works and achievements of the President Akufo-Addo’s government.
According to him, he is not surprised when he hears NDC members accusing the NPP government of not doing anything to improve the living conditions of the citizenry, because as he put it “they are still living in the dark”.
Adomako Barfi stated that the NPP government had done a lot within one-year, citing the free Senior High School (SHS) policy and the restoration of nurses’ allowance, among others, as some of the achievements of the NPP.
He also indicated that the power crisis, popularly known as ‘Dumsor’, also destroyed businesses and heightened poverty in the country but the NPP government has managed to fix that power crisis within a short time.
Adomako Barfi stated that anyone that would boldly state that the NPP government is not performing would either be saying that for propaganda purposes or that person is living in total darkness so he/she cannot see properly.
According to him, the PNDC/NDC government promised to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor but they ended up widening the gap due to their bad policies, which seemed to discriminate against the poor in society.
“The NDC are nation wreckers, in fact, they are only remembered for robbery and their corrupt practices”, he said, adding that the NDC did not leave any positive mark during the long years that they mismanaged the affairs of the state.
Adomako Barfi also stated that the NDC are against the free SHS programme because they (NDC) know that if majority of the populace are educated, they (NDC) would struggle to use their propagandist strategy to win votes during polls.
“The NDC is against free SHS because they fear that the positive policy would open the eyes of the people and that will make their propagandist attitude fail”, he said, noting that the free SHS policy had come to stay.
