The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has suspended the Techiman North constituency Secretary, Isacc Adaebsah, for violating the constitution of the party.
A statement signed by the Director of Administration of the party, Emmanuel S. Zumakpeh, on 11th June, 2018 and copied to the Brong Ahafo Regional chairman and secretary also disqualified Adaebsah from contesting the upcoming Techiman North constituency election.
The Functional Executive Committee of the party, at its meeting held on 5th June, 2018, endorsed the recommendation of the National Review Committee to suspend Adaebsah.
The statement said: “the Committee; in reviewing a petition submitted by Mr. Isaac Kyere, an NDC member from the SDA JHS branch at Aworaw, was satisfied that Mr. Isaac Adaebsah had acted in a manner unbecoming of an elected executive of the party by altering the regulations approved by NEC contrary to article 15 and 45{c} and violating article 40{i}[d] of the party’s constitution”.
It stressed that: “On the authority of article 46{i} of the party’s constitution therefore, you are directed to suspend Mr. Isaac Adaebsah from the party pending the commencement of disciplinary proceedings against him by the regional disciplinary committee.
You are further directed to disqualify him from contesting the Techiman North Constituency elections”.
Concluding, the statement urged the party to ensure that peace is maintained and a level-playing field provided for the up-coming constituency elections.
