THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) has started processes to resolve issues, confronting the party in some constituencies in the Ashanti region.
The party could not hold elections in some of the constituencies in the region, basically due to internal problems among some party members.
Among the areas now considered to be ‘troubled constituencies’ in the region are Bekwai, which is now in court, Affigya, Kwabre South, Manhyia South, Kwadaso and Oforikrom Constituencies, among other.
Yaw Obimpeh, the Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, recently lamented over the party’s inability to conduct intra-party polls in the aforementioned constituencies, and hinted that the troubles in some of the constituencies are not serious and could be resolved very soon.
He said with the exception of the Bekwai Constituency, where the matter had been taken to the court, the others can be resolved easily.
“The Bekwai Constituency case is now in court and so it cannot be resolved easily, since it requires legal processes and procedures to solve the matter.
“But areas such as Oforikrom and Manhyia South Constituencies can be resolved easily and we have even started the processes to resolve their issues”.
Yaw Obimpeh said his administration would make sure that all the troubles spots in the party in the region are resolved latest by next week.
