Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, vying for the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed his commitment to inject dynamic leadership and extend his experience to recapture all the lost seats in the region, Ghana News Agency reports.
He said: “My leadership as a regional secretary will also help to strengthen the relationship between the Members of Parliament, constituency and branch executives to enhance party organisations in the region”.
He promised to ensure equitable development in the area with effective collaboration with the executive members of various constituencies of the Region.
Mr Chaie, who is also a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ablekuma Central Constituency for two terms described himself as a loyal, dedicated man who would ensure accountability, transparency and fairness in his administration if given the nod.
He said he was the most suitable candidate to occupy the regional position because of his past and continuous meritorious contributions and services to the development of the party in Ghana.
“My decision to contest the Regional Secretary is as a result of calls by the youth and opinion leaders in the party for me to use my organisational ability and experience to lead the party to re-capture power in 2020.”
Highlighting on what he will do to help the region to regain its past glories, Mr Chaie said he had already formulated a development strategy that would enable him to get an oversight responsibility over all the constituencies to work effectively for victory, come 2020.
He said he would employ the services of the newly elected constituency executives to ensure that candidates vying for the various positions in the region were critically assessed for only capable, efficient and effective leaders to be elected to enhance their work in the constituencies.
Mr Chaie said: “We must bear in mind that the Governance of this country would definitely have a great impact on our lives, hence the need to ensure that the delegates vote for someone who would care about our welfare after 2020 elections”.
He promised to remain committed even if he lost to ensure that NDC captured political power in the 2020 general election.
