The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, in the Ashanti Region, is set to benefit from a brand new bus terminal this week.
Dubbed the ‘New Ghana Station’, the terminal boasts of modern amenities, such as a spacious conference room and urinal, among others to make passengers feel comfortable.
The station, which used to be known as Joe Boy Station, and had seen seven months of massive rehabilitation works, is scheduled to be officially opened tomorrow (Tuesday) by the MCE for Asokore Mampong, Hon. Alidu Seidu,
Ahead of the opening ceremony, the MCE met all stakeholders, including the Abudu and Andani Transport Unions, the peace council and others, at the terminal in a crunch meeting on Friday.
He the Abudu and Andani Transport Unions to unite and work as one transport union to boost peace since transformation in the area can only take place when there is peace and unity among the citizenry.
At the end of deliberations, the Abudu and Andani Transports Unions agreed to form one transport union to promote peace in the area.
