New Political Party Pops Up
THERE ARE wide reports of the formation of a new political party in the country, ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Power Unity Party (PUP), the name of the new political party, has red, yellow and blue as the official colours, rumours suggest.
Interestingly, even though the party is very active on several social media platforms, the faces behind the formation of PUP are still unknown.
A picture of the Ashanti Regional office of the party has been circulating on some platforms since last week, and comes with the inscription, ‘Power Unity Party-Ashanti Regional Office’. It also has the PUP abbreviation written on both sides of the entrance of the office.
Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, is notorious for the formation of new political parties in the country in recent years.
New parties like the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) of Akua Donkor fame and United Front (UFP) led by Nana Agyenim Boateng aks ‘Gyataba’, were formed in Kumasi.
