The National Investment Bank, (NIB) has donated assorted items valued at about GH¢30,000 to the Kumasi Children’s Home.
The donation is in line with the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The occasion was also used to clean-up the rooms and premises of the orphanage.
Head of the Ashanti/Brong Ahafo Zonal Office of NIB, Richard Antwi said the support given to the Children’s Home is a way of giving back to the community.
He said NIB is passionate about the wellbeing of children because they are the future leaders of every nation.
Mr. Antwi explained that “It is important to help deprived and abandoned children. This will give them a better chance at becoming responsible adults and future leaders”.
Deputy Social Welfare Director of Ashanti Region, Madam Love Christy Adu, and other officials who received the items expressed gratitude to NIB for the kind gesture and appealed for continuous support.
She said “most times, the orphanage receives donations of items but lacked cash needed to take care of other expenses of the orphanage”, calling on other organizations to emulate NIB.
