A 34-year Nigerian woman, Miracle Chukwumezi Ebu, has run into trouble with the law over alleged human trafficking.
She is reported to have trafficked five girls from her country to Accra to engage in commercial sex trade.
She however, denies the offence and was granted GH₵30,000.00 bail with two sureties, when she appeared before the Kwabenya Circuit Court.
The court, presided over by Ms. Ellen Lordina Serwaa Mireku, ordered her to make her next appearance on December 07.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mary Ahafianyo said the five trafficked girls – Princes Frances, Confident Clement, Gennifer Okafor, Nora Pete and Sandra Daniel, were rounded up together with 20 other suspected commercial sex workers in a police swoop on November 15, at about 1930 hours.
A search conducted on them uncovered both used and unused condoms and during police interrogation, they mentioned Ebu as the person who brought them to Ghana.
They added that the accused collected from them cash ranging from GH₵2,500.00 and GH₵3,500.00.
DSP Ahafianyo told the court that based upon the information, she was arrested.
