Nihad Titiaka Crowned Ghana’s First Hijab-Wearing GMB Queen

The newly crowned Queen of Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), Nihad Titiaka Oases has shared her excitement about her recent victory in the pageantry.

In an interview on TV3’s The Afternoon Show, the law student, Titiaka expressed her initial uncertainty about winning the contest, despite having faith in her abilities.

“I am grateful to everyone who supported me in making history together,” she stated, reflecting on her journey. “I wasn’t sure, but I had the belief, and I just decided to work for it. It all starts with having that dream.”

Titiaka described her victory as “a dream come true,” highlighting her long-standing aspiration to wear the crown and claim the accompanying cash prize and brand-new SUV.

As the representative of the Savannah Region, Titiaka faced challenges during the audition process.

She initially considered skipping the auditions due to her exam schedule. However, she decided to take a bold step forward, believing that “it took the grace of God” to help her navigate through all the audition stages.

“I was writing exams, and I found excuses to avoid the auditions. But I chose to take that leap of faith, and by the grace of God, I’m now wearing the crown,” she recounted on Monday, October 7.

Determination fueled Titiaka’s journey as she believed in her capabilities and worked hard to earn the crown. “Honestly, I questioned myself a lot. Ghana’s Most Beautiful is the biggest platform, and I asked myself, ‘Do you have what it takes to wear the crown and perform for thirteen weeks?’” she said.

Her victory is not just personal; it serves as inspiration for many young girls, especially as she makes history as the first hijab-wearing Queen in the contest’s history.

The grand finale of the prestigious beauty contest took place on Sunday, October 6, at the National Theatre, where Titiaka emerged as the winner. This victory marks the first time the crown has been awarded to a contestant from the Savannah Region.

Along with the title, Titiaka received a cash prize of GHC 15,000, a brand-new vehicle, and a trip abroad courtesy of Global Winds and Travel Tour. She also received a TECNO Phantom B2, a hamper, and other rewards from sponsors, underscoring her achievement and the support from the community.
