No Cash for Franky Kuri’s Funeral

A friend of the late Franklina Nkansah Kuri, the lady who died alongside Ebony, has given a heart wrenching account of the financial struggles the family is facing in retrieving their daughters body from the morgue.

Elikem Kotoko who claims he knew Franky personally posted on his Facebook wall that Kuri was an orphan because “she had no mother and her father never looked after her and her younger brother, and so she considered herself an orphan.”

He went on to reveal that Franky’s family was poor and they are struggling to raise money to retrieve her body from the morgue.

Elikem said friends and sympathizers of which he is included, banded together into a WhatsApp group to raise funds to support the family with the morgue fees and funeral.

He added that a popular musician aided in retrieving the body from the morgue.

“Frankie’s lifeless body was left at the morgue to its fate, and when a relation went to the morgue to retrieve the corpse, he was made aware that he had to pay GHC 2,000 cedis for the corpse to be released and another GHC 1,000 to complete the process and that GHC 1,000 is alleged to be going to the medical doctor for reasons I don’t know,” Elikem wrote.

Franky Kuri died in a gory accident along with Ebony Reigns on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
