‘No money for you’ – George Quaye tells Shatta, Stonebwoy fans
Aftermath of the big announcement by the Board Members of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards earlier today in banning Dancehall Artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale indefinitely from participating in all aspects of the award scheme has caused stir on social media.
Per the decision, they have lost their legibility for VGMAs nominations, selections and performances.
Various fans of the two musicians have after the decision was made public expressed their disappointment and displeasure about the decision.
Social media trend with the hashtag, #ReturnOurMoney has over 3,927 tweets and are demanding for a refund of the money they used to vote for their artistes in various categories.
However, Head of Communications of Charterhouse, George Quaye speaking in an interview with Akwasi Aboagye on Peace FM after the announcement said, there is no way they are going to go according to the demands of the masses.
According to him, winners were not determined solely by the votes and so it is out of place for voters to request for their monies.
“Let’s not forget the winners were not solely determined by the votes by the fans. What about the board and academy who left their various assignments to vote on who wins. What about the artists who didn’t win.Did their fans come out asking for their monies?, he quizzed.
