Founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has denied being assaulted by a man in his native Bawku in the Upper East Region.
Reports were rife on social media and some online news platforms that a fabric producer, Adams Awal, allegedly assaulted Mr Ayariga in his home on Monday, 20 August 2018.
However, he told ClassFMonline.com on Saturday, 25 August 2018 that: “It is a fake story. I even wrote a rejoinder and asked for it to be published”.
According to him, there has never been any incident of assault in his home, neither has he reported any case of that sort at the Bawku police station.
He, however, explained that it was his property located at Haatso in the Greater Accra Region that has been demolished by some officials of the Ga East Municipal Assembly.
